I talked to Gravis this week about that and all they have to offer
us pre-GUSMax owners is the old GUS Max upgrade offer that they are
willing to still do, even though technically that offer expired.

Apparently, the deal is you send them $199.00 (Canadian, I didn't
ask about taxes), tell then your name and the serial number of your
original GUS and they send you a MAX.  This means that you get
to keep/sell your original GUS.

I recommend checking with their customer support (ie. not technical
support) people before sending money.
